From January 15th new works on canvas and mirrors by painter Ling Jian will be on show. For his solo show at UCCA, Ling Jian paints larger-than-life-sized portraits of hauntingly beautiful women onto round canvases, and then replicates the portraits in moon-shaped mirrors of various hues. Moon in Glass is an exhibition that invites us to contemplate our own shifting self-portraits and shades of identity. The show will run until March 9, 2011.

An installation of figurative sculptures by Beijing-based artist Wang Shugang is currently on view at The Opposite House, Beijing. Wang demonstrates an exceptional command of the traditional medium in his sculptures, combining the figuration of 20th century Realism with Buddhist iconography and scenes of daily life in China. This show is organized by Redbox Studio and on display until March 2011.
